Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane is the "superior officer" serving among the elite in Hazzard's Sheriff's Dept.  Rosco has a way of leaving his fingers in front of drawers that are slamming shut and his gun only fires when it's pointed in the air (usually taking out a chandelier or ceiling tile).  If you were to get caught in one of Rosco's phony speed traps or "scuff his vehicle" he would embarass you with a firm "Shame, Shame, Everybody knows your name."  Then he would "cuff ya and stuff ya" right before "throwing you under the jail."  When it comes to breaking the law in Hazzard (even if it's so minor, it's worthy of a "tiddly tuddly"), Rosco P. Coltrane is the primary "flaw in the slaw" which works under Boss Hogg's "fat arm of the law."
