Why The Dukes of Hazzard is a Family Show
-
Repeated sign off to people "See you in church." (ie. "Jude Emery".)
-
Abraham Lincoln Hogg in the episode entitled "Baa, Baa, White Sheep" right
before a major jump in Hazzard square "Say your prayers, children."
-
"Shepherd to Lost Sheep, Shepherd to Lost Sheep." (Matt. 9:36, Matt. 10:6,
John 10:7-16).
-
In Part 2 of the episode entitled "The Ten Million Dollar Sheriff" there
is a lengthy prayer lead by Luke in regards to Uncle Jesse's health after
he was hospitalized.
-
In "Luke's Love Story," Enos closes his eyes before they crash into a
pond. He asks Luke if he sees little red fellas with pitchforks or
naked babies with wings--a loose reference to Heaven and Hell.
-
Uncle Jesse's strictness regarding vulgarity. (He tells Bo to watch his
language after saying "dang" in the episode "The People's Choice.")
-
In "Close Call For Daisy," there is a church play that Daisy is involved
in. The whole town attends the play at the end of the episode.
-
In "Witness for the Persecution," when Bo and Luke complain about Boss
staying at the farm, Uncle Jesse says, "You boys are reactin' to prejudice.
The good Lord put us here on this earth to overcome things like hatin' people
for something they did to us in the past."
-
In "Witness for the Persecution," while Boss is getting out of the General
Lee, Bo makes a reference to the Bible when he says it is like getting a
camel through the eye of a needle.
-
In reference to the Hazzard Swamp in "The Dukes of Hazzard Reunion," Uncle
Jesse says, "That swamp has been a haven for wildlife ever since God created
it."
